Die Künstler Philip Beesley und Transforma auf die Frage:
Wie wichtig ist die Fotografie für deine, bzw. eure Kunst?

PHILIP BEESELY: Photography is a fundamental tool and a fundamental way of seeing. Because our own brains and our own eyes are of course exquisitely sensitive things. And yet at the same time, we move through time and our memories are fleeting. To be able to use the expanded physiology and the expanded sensory realm of a camera, of a film, of the many different kinds of expansions to our senses allows us to capture and to watch. To look and to discover much more detail rather than just using our own eyes. So for me a camera is a very natural extension of the way I work. And I constantly use photography in order to fold back a fine-tuning and to discover more subtle phenomena.

TRANSFORMA: All three of us have a background in photography and film, and often discover motives for our work through the viewfinder. In fact it’s a central theme in our work that the image-worlds we create come to life in the presence of a light source and the camera.
